Technology is at the heart of everything we do at M16. Join us as a Unix/Linux Systems Administrator and your work will help an organisation that exists to collect secret foreign intelligence. Intelligence that allows the UK Government to counter threats to this country including terrorism, weapons proliferation and drug trafficking.
If you have solid experience of HP-UX and/or Linux system administration on Itanium, PA-Risc and Intel platforms, we could offer you a fascinating career with impressive training and the widest possible range of challenges.
You’ll need a thorough understanding of storage-related technologies and capabilities, including SAN, HR EVA Disk Array and Storage virtualisation. As well as in-depth working knowledge of HP Data Protector, Blade Servers and VMware virtualisation. You will produce and maintain high quality documentation for use by support team and operations staff.
This role involves working with high-calibre people from the widest range of backgrounds all committed to one key goal: protecting the UK. You should join them with solid problem determination skills and a disciplined and structured approach to work. You will also have the ability to liaise with internal customers and teams, work to tight time-scales and share experience, transfer knowledge and mentor less experienced staff.
Self-motivated, you will enjoy working with a close-knit team and have good interpersonal skills.
