Join the Secret Intelligence Service and you'll use your Engineering skills to support an organisation that protects the security of the UK and tackles a range of challenging issues from terrorism to weapons proliferation.  Not only will you benefit from a culture where teamwork and mutual respect are paramount you'll also have the opportunity to build an absorbing and varied career that allows you to develop your skills.

This is a position where you'll be able to contribute to the effective running of the Service - and as a result the security of the UK.  Although you will be based in London, you'll also be working in other parts of the UK, and there will, in time, be extensive opportunities to work overseas.  Furthermore, we'll give you the chance to tackle a diverse range of systems, including:

  • Switches, Routers & IP Phones
  • RF and Satellite (including radio systems and VSAT)
  • Alarms, Locks and Security Systems
  • Network Design & Development
  • Mechanical Installations and Support of various Electrical and Network devices

We're looking for people at all levels of experience. To join us, you'll need to be a graduate with a BSc (Hons), HND or HNC level qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Data Communications or a closely related discipline. Strong electrical and mechanical skills are a must and you will need to have a real passion for setting up, maintaining and developing a whole range of network systems as well as a knack for practical problem-solving. An important part of the position includes moving heavy equipment and machinery as well as a wide range of physical installation work.

Additional professional qualifications would be very welcome (especially for the higher level roles) but are not essential. These include:

  • Comp Tia A+, N+
  • Modern Electrical Based Apprenticeship

Please be aware that if you are joining the organisation, you are unlikely to be offered higher than the middle of the salary range.
