At MI6 (or SIS, as we're more formally known) we do vital work. We collect intelligence from around the world to help protect the UK against a range of threats from terrorism to regional instability. Behind this work you will find our support teams. All of them are essential to the smooth running of the organisation. Thanks to their high standards and professionalism, we are able to concentrate on the work we do that ensures the security and prosperity of the UK. The following roles are only open to British citizens and are based in central London. Some paid overtime may occasionally be required for some positions.

Facilities Assistants - £19,621 + £2,600 local pay additions
The role is London based

Our Facilities Assistants need to be able to turn their hand to anything from mail room duties to cleaning, painting, gardening and building maintenance. Whether you're preparing meeting rooms or laying carpet, portering or facilitating office moves, your can-do attitude will make you invaluable. Ideally you are already working as a Facilities or Estates Assistant.

This is a physical job, so you'll have to be able to undertake vigorous tasks like moving furniture. You must have a full, clean driving licence - basic IT skills are also important. Ideally, you'll also have a forklift licence and a PASMA scaffolding certificate. If not, you'll need to be willing to go on a course to achieve them. Highly motivated and team spirited, you're always ready to lend a hand no matter how busy it gets.

Before you apply

MI6 offers an excellent working environment, with great benefits including 25 days' holiday and a good pension. However, applying to join us is a complex process that may take up to six months. We need to carry out in-depth background and security checks before we recruit anyone - an extremely important task which can take some time. Before applying, please make sure that you have checked that you have the skills and experience required. It's also essential that you feel strongly about helping to protect your country and are committed to being discreet about your work. Remember, you must be a British national aged 21 or over and you will be required to undergo advanced security checks, including medical and drugs tests.

To apply, visit www.sis.gov.uk and search our current vacancies. We recommend spending a little time gathering more information about us there.

Please do not tell anyone about your application.
